I have an error that does not go away after the usual # + 3 , # + 6, and # + 9 combined key presses when re-powering the device. It just briefly says it is going through a full reset, but that is about it. It also gets stuck in an align cartridges loop. Rarely will it print out a test page. It usually goes to it usual flashing light mode with the error message as in the video below:

Figuring that I needed to go further, I sought to figure out how to get the printer disassembled. It turns out there are a number of torx 6 sided star screws (T10) at the top around the scanner tray. I was able to remove a majority of these screws, but the ones on the left side (where the feed for the paper to be copied was) were hard to reach. I might need a special screwdriver shaft that is bent at a right angle.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

My best guess is I need to do the equivalent of a CMOS factory reset for the printer. i.e. desoldering and resoldering the button cell battery.
The repair would be similar to this repair for the HP Pavilion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd9thXqbyek . I do not know if I would need to reset the bios or reinstall the firmware after doing. I have attached some photos of the process of removing the T10 torx screws to dig my way down to the mother board:

hmm....removing the battery from the circuit for 30 seconds seems like it would be fine. A guy in this video did not talk about any red flags.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZSqdILTjNQ . Since the printer is non-functional due to the error, clearing the cmos memory could only help.

fwiw, I remember threads similar to this where people said they went through the usual keypad procedure with #9, #3, #6 and were still having issues. Some person claiming to be a former employee of HP got on and said message me and I'll walk you through a (paraphasing) "super hard reset". Since dissembling the printer and de-soldering the battery is above the average skill level, and it has been suggested as a means of resetting the printer in YouTube videos, I assume this is what they were talking about.
