@treegardner,

Perfect, I am really glad to hear that!

Usually, the default password is blank, type admin in the username field and leave the password field blank and hit enter and check.

If you are unable to login try "admin" as password and check.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

No way it will work. Tried different combjnations.  Is there some thing being remembered in the preferences on the computer?

Went to  Setup-tools-update the printer on the printer. Checked update and it says that the most current updates have been installed. Then I went to the Mac version of Down Load from Website. There I ended up with a blank page and a blank TextEdit file.

I'm stumped as to how to fix this problem..

You have a great day!

Problem solved. Replaceing printer

Not joking? I have the same trouble to reset the administrator password but absolutely nothing works!

First, disconnecting the network cable before executing the following steps:

  1. Variant 1: Setup -> Network -> Restore Network Settings
  2. Variant 2: 5 x Back-Button -> Resets Menu -> Partial reset
  3. Variant 3: 5 x Back-Button -> Resets Menu -> Semi-full reset
  4. Variant 4: Engineering Menu -> Resets Menu -> OOBE reset (Out Of Box Experience)

None of them worked! Replacing the printer was seriously an option recommended by HP?!
