hp officejet pro 8100 is giving a printer failure problem with printer or ink system. The Cyan has been replaced but is now saying it is empty and the C on the screen is flashing. I have powered off multiple times and unplugged and restarted and replaced with another Cyan but I am still getting the Printer Failure error.

Hi @Kacie5,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already taken some troubleshooting steps, but let's try a few more to see if we can resolve the issue.
- Reset the printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- Clean the printhead: Sometimes, ink residue or debris can build up on the printhead, causing issues with ink detection. Most printers have a utility for cleaning the printhead, which you can usually access through the printer's settings menu or by pressing a combination of buttons on the printer's control panel. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
- Check for firmware updates: Sometimes, firmware updates can fix bugs or issues with the printer's operation. Check the HP website or use the HP Smart app to see if there are any available updates for your printer, and if so, install them.
- Inspect for any obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions in the printer's paper path or around the printhead carriage that could be causing the issue.
Hopefully, one of these steps will help resolve the issue with your printer.
Take care and have a good day.
