Hi @Petre7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten the administrator password for your HP LaserJet 700 Color MFP M775 and need to reset it or find the default password, follow these steps:

1. Check Default Password

Some HP printers come with a default administrator password. For the HP LaserJet 700 Color MFP M775, try using common default passwords such as:

  • admin
  • password
  • 1234

If these do not work, the printer may not have a default password set, or it may have been changed.

2. Reset to Factory Defaults

If you cannot recover the password, resetting the printer to factory defaults may be necessary. This will reset all settings, including the administrator password. Note that this process will also reset network settings and any customized configurations.

Reset via Printer Control Panel:

Access the Service Menu:

  • Power off the printer.
  • Power on the printer and immediately press the Back button repeatedly until the display reads "Permanent Storage Init."

Perform the Reset:

  • Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the Service menu.
  • Select Restore Defaults.
  • Confirm the action and allow the printer to reset.

Reset via Embedded Web Server (EWS):

If you can still access the printer’s Embedded Web Server:

Open a Web Browser:

  • Enter the printer’s IP address in the address bar to access the EWS.

Reset Settings:

  • Navigate to the General or System tab.
  • Look for Restore Factory Settings or Reset options.
  • Follow the prompts to reset the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
