Product: hp photosmart 6520

Printer was running low on color and black ink - replaced with the correct size and installed. The color ink works but the black ink wont print on paper.  i have Hp Printer Photosmart 6520.

please help me. 

 

fyi - purachsed ink at a Best Buy

@mvogt5, Welcome to HP Support Community!

 

This could be an issue with the ink cartridge or the ink system. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue. I'd recommend you follow the steps from the document Black Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues.

 

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
