hello

HP8600 pro showing printer failure. I tried to reset according to the instructions as posted on HP support.

Tried few times, but no luck.

It has genuine cartridges.  I am not sure why is showing printer failure.

Hi @Zaheer3786,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 is displaying a "printer failure" message despite following the reset instructions and using genuine cartridges, here are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Check for Paper Jams: Open all accessible compartments and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Even small bits of paper can cause issues.
  • Clean Printhead: Sometimes, a printhead cleaning can resolve errors. Access the printhead and clean it gently using a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
  • Inspect Cartridges: Ensure the cartridges are installed correctly and that their contacts are clean. Remove and reinstall them to make sure they are seated properly.
  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updates can fix issues.
  • Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset. You can usually find this option in the printer’s settings menu. Be aware that this will reset all settings to their defaults.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
