I created a document in WORD with inserted pictures and writing. Date and Salutation were written in red. Print only prints the images and the red print. The black is blank on output page. I messed arount with some of the print options but cannot correct it. Always the first time I go to print I must uncheck markup on option for printing whole document. Preview page will have an inserted blank area on right side of document, and document is minimized. When I uncheck markup, document looks just like I want it. click on print and only the pics and red typed areas will print. I am also having a problem with the images. I just purchased new HP cartridges and replaced my color ones. The pictures are now coming out like deep reds or blues, faces look like negatives. Any help?

It sounds like you need to make sure the printer is able to actually print the colors correctly.

Known solutions, presented in the order to be completed:

Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

There is likely not much to be done with the Word document until you correct the printing colors (verify the printer can print colors correctly using the solutions in the document).

Word "Markup"

Are you referring to the formatting marks that can be switched on to display in your document content??

File > Options > Display >

Section "Always show these formatting marks on the screen"

Clear (UNCHECK) the formatting markup

OR

Do you perhaps have the View set to "Read" or "Web Layout" mode?  Changing the mode can produce some odd display changes when you switch back and forth between views.

IF the odd results are due to the printer needing attention, the document may be OK after the printer is fixed.  ???
