I updated my Mac and now my printer will not connect to wifi. I tried connecting to the set-up wifi and I don't have a password. Then it says no internet. I tried pressing the two buttons but it keeps printing the same thing with no password. i have restarted everything several times.
It also says I am not enrolled in the smart ink and I am.

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a couple of different issues here, but we can work through them one step at a time. Let's focus on getting your printer connected to your Wi-Fi network, and then we can check the HP Smart Ink enrollment status. Here’s a systematic approach to get everything sorted.
1. Ensure Wi-Fi Connection for Printer
Since your printer isn't connecting to Wi-Fi and is showing an error like "no internet," there might be a problem with how it's trying to connect. Let's focus on setting up the Wi-Fi connection manually.
Step 1: Check Printer Wi-Fi Connection Mode
- Ensure the printer is in Wi-Fi Setup Mode.
- Depending on your printer model, you’ll need to make sure it is in Wi-Fi Setup Mode to connect to your network.
- For many HP printers, you press and hold the Wi-Fi button (looks like a radio wave or signal) and the information button (an “i” icon) at the same time for 5 seconds. This should initiate the Wi-Fi Setup mode.
- The printer should start printing a network configuration page and the Wi-Fi light should blink.
If your printer keeps printing the same page with no password, it might be stuck in a loop or improperly connected.
Step 2: Connect Printer to Wi-Fi (Manual Wi-Fi Setup)
- On the printer’s control panel, you should now have the option to choose a Wi-Fi network.
- Use the Control Panel on the printer to select your Wi-Fi network.
- If your network does not appear or you have trouble with the password entry, you may need to manually input your Wi-Fi credentials:
- If you’re setting up manually, you will need to enter the Wi-Fi password carefully (make sure your Wi-Fi password is correct). You may need to navigate through a list of networks using the printer’s screen.
- Check for Error Messages: If you still see "no internet" or similar errors, it could indicate an issue with your router or network configuration.
Step 3: Wi-Fi Direct (If Network Issues Persist)
If you are having trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi network directly, try enabling Wi-Fi Direct:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to the Wi-Fi Direct Settings and enable it.
- On your Mac, select the printer directly from the available networks (you’ll see it as an available Wi-Fi network).
- You can then try printing using Wi-Fi Direct, though this is a temporary workaround.
2. Re-enroll in HP Instant Ink (If Prompted)
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
