I have just bought a brand new HP Laser Jet MFP M283fwd.

I took it out of the box, plugged it in and turned it on.

I get the message 'Incompatible Supplies'

Tried some reset trick from on the support page but that didn't work.

I am in the UK and bought it in the Uk

Can't believe it doesn't work out of the box.

Any Suggestions before I take it back?

Plug the printer directly to the wall outlet.

Remove all toner cartridges, from the printer. Turn printer ON, wait for the printer to initialize and message to install toner cartridges.

Install one any toner cartridge, close the door and wait for a printer to recognise that one cartridge and asks for other 3. Then install 2nd toner cartridge repeat the steps.

The last step if it doesn't work is to return the printer.

I did try all of that previously but gave it another go anyway. However, unfortunately it still didn't work. I am sure it down to some regionalised problem on either the printer or the cartridges but I obviously can't resolve it so I will have to return it. Hopefully any replacement won't have the same problem.

There weren't any instructions as to whether the printer should be first powered up with or without cartridges so hopefully that shouldn't matter.

Very disappointed in this
