Restarted my old officejet to use for work faxing, printing and scanning.  Purchased officejet at costco in 2013.  connecting perfectly to my devices but when it prints the print is too faint to see.  installed new cartridges and wiped contacts and ink is open on every cartridge but will not appear on paper dark enough to read.  tried cleaning printer head 5 times and it improved a bit.  using HP product cartridges identical to previously used.  virtual chat helper no help at all.  ran the diagnostics and tested perfectly.  what the heck is happening?

If you have already performed the steps from the document No black ink, wrong colors, other print quality issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Purchased a new black cartridge from HP store, still produces blank sheets of paper from print, scan and copy.  Have spent literally hundreds of dollars on cartridges. Still NO INK ON PAGES.  Really pissed with this product.  My other copier is a canon and it works fine.  This printer does EVERYTHING CORRECTLY EXCEPT PUT PRINT ON THE PAGES IT DISPENSES.  I can connect with it from my devices.  It just does not put the ink on the pages!

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you contact HP support in your region regarding the service options for your printer

 

Follow the instructions below to reach them:

 

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 

6)Fill the web-form and proceed further.
