HP Officejet Pro 8710 all-in-one printer.
Had a lightening storm the other day. Saw a white flash from printer area. Printer dead. Changed the fuse in the mains plug. Printer alive, it has the "home", "?" and the "go back" all lit up, BUT it will not go the home screen, nor will it print. When I open the cartridge door nothing happens. I cannot switch it off at the front. I have tried unplugging everything and plugging back in. Nothing. can anyone help?

@sallywright1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Thank you for trying to help. I had already done what you said to no avail. I think a chip (or something) within the printer blew. Nothing has changed. It will be easier to buy a new printer! This printer is out of warranty, so HP won't help.
Thank you again
