We are going to be without internet for several days because of a storm,  I need to use my printer without internet.  Have it hooked to a printer cable and usb into my computer but is not working.  How do I get my printer to work "hardwarded"?  I run quickbooks and need to do payroll and print my checks

Hi @logging-now,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Yes, the HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer can be used without an internet connection. The printer is designed to function as a standalone device, meaning it can perform basic printing, scanning, and copying functions without needing to be connected to the internet. You can connect your computer or mobile device to the printer using a USB cable, and it will work just fine without any internet access.

To use the HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer with your computer via USB and print without the internet, follow these steps:

Check Printer: Make sure your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer is powered on and has ink or toner cartridges installed.

USB Connection: Connect one end of a USB cable to the USB port on your computer and the other end to the USB port on the printer. The USB port on the printer is typically located on the back or side of the device.

Install Printer Drivers: If you haven't already installed the printer drivers on your computer, you'll need to do so. Most modern operating systems will automatically detect the printer and install the necessary drivers. If not, you can download the drivers from the HP website and install them manually.

Printing: Once the printer drivers are installed, you should be able to print documents from your computer without an internet connection. Simply open the document you want to print, select "Print" from the File menu, and choose the HP Officejet Pro 8610 as the selected printer. Click "Print," and the printer will start printing the document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
