Hi @Gustuv1945,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the yellow exclamation mark pulsing on your HP LaserJet MFP M234sdwe printer typically indicates a problem that needs attention, such as an error condition, a consumable issue, or a connectivity problem. Since you've already checked for paper jams and unplugged the printer,

here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the Ink or Toner Levels: Make sure that the toner cartridge is not empty or nearly empty. You can check the toner levels via the printer’s control panel or through the HP Smart app.

Inspect the Toner Cartridge:

  • Remove the toner cartridge and check for any damage.
  • Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and in the printer using a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Reinstall the cartridge and make sure it’s seated properly.

Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Go to the HP Support website to check for any firmware updates for your printer model. Installing the latest firmware can resolve many issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • Power off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Check Printer Settings: Make sure that your printer is set as the default printer in your Windows settings.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help diagnose and fix common printing issues.

Check Connection: If your printer is connected over a network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), ensure that it is connected to the same network as your computer. You can print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to verify connectivity.

Look for Error Codes: If the printer displays an error code along with the exclamation mark, look it up in the printer manual or on the HP support website for specific troubleshooting steps related to that error.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
