This behaviour is often the result of dirty or worn pickup rollers in the paper feed. The easiest way to test is to print the job to the manual tray (tray 1). If the job prints ok then you know that you have a feeding issue with tray 2. Remove the tray and look at the roller in back of the tray cavity, it is the biggest roller in the middle. It should be free of paper dust and have small fingerprint like ridges. You can clean with a damp lint free cloth, this is a little difficult on this model as the roller, when at rest faces the wrong direction, but you should be able to see if it is bad. Replacement is not too expensive. Through the secondary service menu you can run the change pickup roller routine which rotates the roller to the correct position to remove or clean.
