Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8725
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

I used to have an HP widget on my MAC Dashboard which showed the ink level.  I had to backup and wipe out the hard drive, then readded the OS and backedup files.  I no longer have the HP widget on the Dashboard which shows the ink level.  How can I get it back on my Dashboard?

If the widget for the printer is available then there would be an option to install the widget during the software install. You may use HP Easy start to install all the required software and driver for your Officejet 8725 printer. HP Easy Start will locate and install the latest software for your printer and then guide you through printer setup. You may download HP Easy Start from here.

Thanks for your reply.  However, I did exactly what you recommended right before I posted my question and it did NOT install the widget (or I couldn’t figure out how to activate it).  I did not reboot my computer after reinstalling my printer.  If I do that and the widget still doesn’t install, what should I do?  Try to reinstall the printer again, after deleting it?  Something else?  Again, thanks for your help.

You are welcome! Try removing the existing printer software and driver and then use HP Easy Start to re-install all available software and driver.

Thanks for your recommendation, but it failed to install an ink level widget.  Is there one that's compatible with MAC OS 10.14.3 and, if so, how can I download just the file with this widet?  Apple has hundreds of widget available, but the HP ink level driver is not among them.  If the HP Easy Start does download the widget, what directory does it put it in?  Again, thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

Since HP Easy start didn't install the Ink Widget, its possible that a compatible ink widget is not available for mac OS 10.14 mojave 😞
