The missing lines or part of a line occur in .docx, .pdf and .html. They do not occur if I print from a website, or if the lines of text have at least one line of space between. It seems that the paper "jumps" slightly as it is being fed through the machine.

- Does the copy work fine from the Printer?
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Check ink levels
- From the home screen of the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon
.
- This shows the ink level on the printer.
- Replace any low or empty ink cartridges. Refer to this video for replacing the inks.\
- If the ink levels are fine, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Perform a Power Reset
- Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
- Turn the printer on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
- Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
- Check if you can print/copy
- If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Clean the printhead (perform this step if you have issues with printing and copying)

Make sure that plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper is loaded in the tray.

From the control panel home screen, touch the Settings icon
, and then touch Tools.

Touch the Down Arrow (
), and then touch Clean Printhead. The product cleans the print head and then prints a test page.

Check the quality.
-
If the quality is satisfactory, try to print from your PC and check.
-
If the quality is unsatisfactory, proceed to the second level of cleaning the print head.
-
Perform up to 3 levels of cleaning if necessary.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step
Step 4: Align the printer

Make sure that plain white U.S. letter or A4 size paper is loaded in the tray.

From the control panel home screen, touch the Settings icon
, and then touch Tools.

Touch the Down Arrow (
), and then touch Align Printer. The alignment page prints.
-
Lift the lid on the printer, and then place the alignment page print side down in the right front corner of the scanner glass.
- Close the lid, and then press OK on the control panel. The printer will align automatically. Press OK to continue.
- Try to print again, if the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Step 5: Remove and Re-install the printer driver
- In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and open 'Programs' or 'Programs and features' and select 'Uninstall a Program'.
- Select your HP Printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for 'Control Panel' and look for 'View devices and printers'option under 'Hardware and Sound'.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'.
- Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the "Drivers" tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select Ok.
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
- Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart the computer.
- Download the printer driver and install it from this link or manually search for drivers from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/printers
- Open the downloaded file, follow onscreen instructions and complete installation
- Try printing from your PC again and check if you can print.
