ASUS notebook and HP 8100 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a new problem that suddenly appeared:
my 8100 "printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem 0x80070005"

It happens when I try to print items on webpages (i.e. receipts, boarding passes, etc.).

I've never had an issue printing these things before.

For now, I have to save the information from the website or webpage, as a pdf, then go to the pdf in whatever file I've saved it in, and print it from there.  It prints all pdfs and word docs fine.

I've checked online and tried all sorts of 'solutions' but none have worked.  Short of going out and buying a whole new printer, I was wondering if anyone has a solution?

@Bubug, Welcome to HP Support Community!

This could be an issue with the print driver or the browser itself. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware.

Have you tried using a different browser to print from?

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
