Hi! @ranchman333, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you have issues printing colour from your printer.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any changes to your printer?

Does the issue persist when you make a copy of your printer?

Have you tried printing using a different ink cartridge?

Are you using HP genuine ink cartridge to print from your printer?

Have you tried printing from a different application? Does the issue persist?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

Try printing a Print Quality Diagnostic report and check if the printer is printing in all the colours.

Replace any low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer.

  1. Press the Power button () to turn on the product.

  2. With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  4. Wait at least 15 seconds.

  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.

  7. If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button () to turn it on.

Step one: Use an automated tool to clean the printhead

  • If the alignment failure error message displays on the control panel, touch OK. The cleaning process automatically begins.

  • If the error message does not display, or the prompt to touch OK does not display, follow these steps to clean the printhead using the printer control panel.

    1. Touch Setup on the printer control panel.

    2. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Printhead.

The printer cleans the printhead, and then prints a test page. Discard or recycle the test page.

Step two: Align the printer

  1. Touch Setup on the printer control panel.

  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer.

The printer calibrates, aligns the printhead, and then prints an alignment page. A success or failure message displays.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. Try replacing the ink cartridges on your printer.

Let me know if this helps!

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Could you please print a printer status report and let me know if it has color in it. In order to print the report:

1.) Touch the Setup icon.

2.) Touch Tools.

3.) Touch Printer Status Report.
