My printer cannot print more than 5 pages at a time. When I send a print command to print more than 5 pages it prints only 5 and stops. After that I have to turn it off and on again to print the remaining pages.

Hi @Krish_Shah ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue you're facing with your HP LaserJet Pro M1136 Multifunction Printer not printing more than 5 pages at a time could be caused by several factors, such as firmware glitches, driver issues, or memory limitations. Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the problem:
1. Check for Errors on the Printer
- Look at the printer's control panel for error messages or blinking lights.
- If there’s an error code, consult the printer's manual or let me know the code for further assistance.
2. Update the Printer Firmware
- Download the latest firmware for your printer from the HP Support website.
- Install it on your printer using the provided instructions.
- Firmware updates often fix glitches and improve performance.
3. Reinstall or Update Printer Drivers
- Uninstall the current printer drivers:
- On your Windows 11 computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers or Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Remove the M1136 printer.
- Download and install the latest drivers for your printer from the HP Support website.
- Ensure you install the full-feature driver package for the best functionality.
4. Change Print Spooler Settings
The print spooler manages your print jobs. A misconfigured spooler can cause such issues:
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down and locate Print Spooler.
- Right-click it and select Properties.
- Set the Startup type to Automatic.
- Restart the service by clicking Stop and then Start.
- Check if the issue persists.
5. Check Printer Memory
The M1136 has limited onboard memory, which could cause the printer to stop when handling large print jobs. To optimize:
- Reduce print job size:
- Print in smaller batches of 3-5 pages.
- Avoid sending complex documents with heavy graphics.
- Enable “Print as Image” in the print settings (useful for PDFs):
- Open the document and click Print.
- Click Advanced or Properties and select Print as Image.
6. Disable Bidirectional Support
Sometimes, bidirectional communication can interfere with print jobs:
- Open Devices and Printers or Printers & Scanners in Windows.
- Right-click your printer and choose Printer Properties.
- Go to the Ports tab and uncheck Enable bidirectional support.
- Click OK and test again.
7. Test on Another Computer
- If possible, connect the printer to another computer and test to see if the issue persists. This helps identify if the problem is with the printer or your computer.
8. Factory Reset the Printer
Resetting the printer to its factory defaults can resolve persistent issues:
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold the Cancel and Copy buttons while turning it back on.
- Release the buttons when the printer initializes.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
