officejet 5252 [edit]
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bought the officejet to replace  my HP Photoshop.   Set up the wireless network which seemed to go OK.  Everything works except print from laptop.  Did the scan Dr. ,  Shut down all firewalls.  Deleted all the HP downloads, erased HP drivers from run.exe, reloaded everything from scratch (all this twice), no change.  (my apple IPAD has no problem with wireless communication with the printer)  Maddening.   I now have one driver I can't delete (HP officejet 5200 series PCL-3.)    Have also seen  "HP officejet 5200 series PCL-3 (copy 1)" version on occasion, but I can delete.    Have also seen HP officejet 5200 net) and HP officejet 5200 PL-3 (network) versions.   in the ports currently:   port LPT 1:    HP officejet PCL-3 (copy 1) and PCL-3 (I don't know why 2 are there):  in port WSD:  5200 series PCL (network); and in port 192.168.0.15_5 is 5200 series PCL-3.   In settings, under printers and scanners I have 2:    5200 series PCL-3 and 5200 series PCL-3 (network)  This is the last one I tried as my default but it says it is offline and unconnected.   Tried to connect it but unsuccessful.   I think my laptop has scrambled its brains on various versions of the 5200 series downloads, one of which has burrowed into its midbrain and now its L hand wont shake with its R hand.  Is there a way to unscramble all this, or is it hippity hop to the printer shop where I may find a Cannon to blow this problem away.    Sorry if confusing but I have been at this for 2 days and am totally confused.   Thanks for any help.   (is it Windows 10 just doesn't play nice?  My old HP photosmart got along OK)?

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I understand that you are unable to print from your HP Officejet 5252

I'll try my best to help

I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue

I suggest we start with a Printer Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

The uninstall the Printer Driver from Root level and download the Full Feature Software

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Note: Connect the USB only when prompted during installation

Let me know how it goes

Thank you 🙂
