It says "k" black ink is having a problem.  I've tried all of the troubleshooting i've found on other threads and still not getting anywhere with the issue.

  1. Clean the Contacts:
    • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer.Allow the contacts to dry completely.
  2. Reinstall the Cartridge: Reinsert the black ink cartridge, ensuring it clicks into place.
  3. Turn On the Printer: Close the access door and turn the printer back on.

2. Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • Verify Cartridge Authenticity: Ensure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause issues. Replace the cartridge with a genuine HP one if necessary.

3. Reset the Printer

  1. Power Cycle:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.Wait for at least 60 seconds.Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Visit the HP Support website.Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 7740).Download and install the latest firmware update for your printer.

5. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Unplug the Printer:
    • While the printer is turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.:Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  2. Reconnect:
    • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the back of the printer.Turn on the printer.

6. Check for Blockages:

  • Check for any blockages or dried ink around the printhead area. Clean the printhead if necessary using the printer’s built-in maintenance tools.

7. Run Diagnostic Tools:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.Follow the instructions in the tool to diagnose and fix issues with your printer.

8. Printhead Cleaning:

  • From the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.Follow the prompts to clean the printhead:
    • If the automatic cleaning does not resolve the issue, refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on manually cleaning the printhead.

My hp 7720 printer have system problem with black cartilage. What can i do

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that has supply system error.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

 

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

 

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

 

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.
