Hi @GMwham,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be an issue with the printer's connection to the new internet provider, especially when trying to print from Google services like Gmail. Here’s a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Check Printer Connection:
- Make sure your HP printer is still connected to the new router correctly. You can do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer itself or accessing the printer settings through its control panel.
- Ensure that the printer shows as connected to the correct Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and that the signal strength is adequate.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your HP printer by turning it off, waiting for about 30 seconds, and then turning it back on.
- Restart your computer or device from which you are trying to print.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Sometimes, printers require firmware updates to work seamlessly with new network configurations. Check the HP support website for your printer model and install any available firmware updates.
Check Printer Settings:
- Verify that your printer is set as the default printer on your computer.
- Check the printer settings to ensure there are no error messages or warnings related to connectivity or supplies (like low ink levels).
Clear Print Queue:
- Sometimes print jobs can get stuck in the queue, causing new jobs to fail. Clear the print queue on your computer:
- On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select "See what’s printing" > "Printer" > "Cancel All Documents".
- On macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on the "Open Print Queue" button. Then, click "Jobs" > "Delete".
Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings:
- Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer's communication. You may need to add an exception for your printer’s IP address or port in your firewall settings.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Uninstall the printer software from your computer and then reinstall the latest drivers and software from the HP website. Sometimes, driver conflicts can cause printing issues.
Google Cloud Print (if applicable):
- If you are using Google Cloud Print, ensure that it is properly set up with your new internet provider and printer. You may need to re-register the printer with Google Cloud Print.
By systematically going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue causing your HP printer to fail when printing from Google services after changing your internet provider.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
