My printer email alert messages are going to spam because the To and From email addresses are the same - my email address.
The problem can be solved if I can set the printer to send a device email alert message with a From address that is different from the To address. Other solutions are welcome.
I use a filter to catch spam that uses this mechanism. And now HP are using the same approach with their alert messages, which results in them being treated as spam as well.
Spammers do this becasue, without filters, the ISPs normal filtering system does not catch such emails even when I push them into the webmail spam folder - after all, if the email is from me then surely it's safe?!*!?

Let's configure the alert destination:
Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
Go to Settings>E-mail Alerts>Alerts Destination.
Let me know if this helps.

I'm assuming what you're talking about is that in the ePrintCenter print queue it states some of the print jobs you have attempted to send to the printer's email address are being flagged as spam. If that is correct, it could be happening for a few different reasons. Are you trying to send the messages to multiple recipients? Are you forwarding an already forwarded message or auto-forwarding the message from another email address? If not, how large are the emails? What kind of device are you sending from?
If you still need help, let me know but based on those questions, here are some things you can try:
- Make sure the email you are sending is not larger then 5MB (including attachments).
- Make sure the printer's email address is the only address you are sending to.
- If you are forwarding a previously forwarded message, change the subject line to take out all the 'FW:'.

In the printer configuration there is an option to send alert messages. I have enabled that, and the first time it sent an alert was when the ink levels became low. Then I noticed the issue as described above.
