Error message: question mark on printer display is lit

No changes made

 

I found a string on the HP community - with an HP support person reply to a customer with seemingly similar problems. I unplugged my printer and removed the cartridges. Waited for over 60 seconds and re-plugged in the printer. Reinstalled the cartridges. No change...the question mark is still lit up. Of course, my printer admonished me for improperly turning it off.

 

Pretty frustrating morning.  Will give up on printing for now.

The question mark on the printer control panel display is the Help button. The Help button opens the Help menu for the current operation.

Does the printer print if you copy a document?
