I originally would request a print job and the printer screen would light up .. no printing job.

The Envy menu shows nothing in the print jobs.

I have checked for update of software drivers...none needed.

I have reset moden, restarted computer, turned off printer and back on.

I have a USB connection.

I can only print one page at a time from software Word.

I can only print one page using Control P.

What would make the printer only respond to requesting one page?  Not multiple

I am using Windows 10.  I am trying to print word documents (letters) that have been previously able to print more than one copy at a time.  My printer prints fine.  I have turned it off and back on, restarted my computer, reset my modem, etc.  I can print one copy of previously save letters, if I request print 2 to whatever number, the printer lights up, the printer program shows receipt of request and quickly disappears.  The printer does not print multiple copies of said letter.

As a test and workaround, I have saved the document file as a PDF file and I can print 2-xxx copies, no problem.

My Word program is 2007.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have read previous help messages regarding printing just 1 copy but my printer file does not contain a listing of installing features which is suggested one be disabled.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Before we get into troubleshooting, I would like to ask you a few questions to get a clear picture of what's going on with the Printer.

1. What is the operating system installed on your Computer?
2. Are you able to make a copy?

Let me know

Thanks!

Hi @MsDonnaKay

Since @Betty0610 is not in the office, I will take this forward.

Open your document in Microsoft Word.

Click on the Office Icon and click on Print.

This will open the printer settings page.

Make sure your right printer is selected under Printer and make sure print all pages option or range is provided to print the document you wish to print.

If this does not work, run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor, and then follow the on-screen prompts to install and open the tool.

  • On the Welcome screen, click Start to view a list of available printers.

  • Select your printer in the list, and then click Next.

If your printer is not listed or a connection problem is detected, click My product is not listed or select your connection type, follow the on-screen instructions, and then click Retry.

  • Click Fix Printing.
  • If you are prompted to install the printer software, follow the on-screen instructions. The software can resolve many printer issues.
  • Review the list of test results, and then resolve any issues found.

  • If you see a checkmark, the printer passed the test.

  • If you see a wrench, HP Print and Scan Doctor found an issue and repaired it.

  • If you see an exclamation point, the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.

  • If you see an X, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.

Let me know if this helps you.

If this helps, mark this post as an accepted solution so that it can benefit others. 🙂

Cheers

Thank you for your answer.  I have retained the info for any future problems.

I found that the document(s) I was attempting to print were saved as 2003 compatiable Word documents.  They were documents that were part of an old project that has been used year after year with minor updates and saved in their former format.

I saved the documents in my current 2007 Word program (which changed some minor spacing which I corrected).  and when I sent the command to print 2 copies.  IT PRINTED ALL COPIES!!
