HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer

I need help to get my printer working.  It was working fine earlier in the evening.  However, items keep getting stuck in queue and/or I receive an error message.

@RevDavid, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e was working fine earlier but now you're seeing items stuck in the print queue or getting an error message. Let's walk through some steps to get your printer back up and running:

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

This clears temporary errors and resets the printer hardware.

Clear the Print Queue

On your Windows PC:

  • Press Windows + R, type control printers, and press Enter.
  • Right-click your printer > See what's printing.
  • In the queue window, click Printer > Cancel All Documents.
  • Restart your computer.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

Sometimes a corrupted driver causes queue errors:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Remove the printer.
  • Visit the official driver page: Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the latest Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
  • Or use HP Smart app: HP Smart

Reset the Printing System (Mac only)

If you're using a Mac:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click in the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
  • Re-add your printer.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
