Microsoft Windows XP

can anyone help with printer error messages?

i keep getting two in particular

one says clear the paper jam but there isnt one

the other says wasnt shut down properly and to push the on/off button and restart

ive e done this repeatedly to no avail

it also keeps doing maintenance them saying there's a problem

this all started when trying to replace the  cartridges but they wont come out where they usually do

they are stuck on the right end of the carraige

 

thanks for any help

Known solutions here, presented in the order to be completed:

 

 

If you have not done so,

In addition to the other steps, try the Printer Reset option that is explained in the document.

Unplug the printer > Wait a couple of minutes > plug in and start printer...

Reminder - The printer software does not support XP

What?  Any settings, adjustments, or other "tool based" fixes, are not likely going to be available (because there is no printer software support).

yes i found that out thru cust srvc over the phone     tried your suggestions for paper jam / printer reset to no avail

 

cant get the cartridges to move move to tghe center from the right

 

dont see any paper or reason the carrigage is stuck   mustve slipped out of whack or something

 

but thank you for your reply

Too bad nothing worked.

 

For those reading:

The "carriage" error is even worse than a "paper jam"

Carriage jam or E3 error

 

You could try

Switch off and unplug the printer.

Let it sit in a cool room for a couple of hours unplugged.

Plug in and switch on (if it doesn't start on its own) - See what happens...

Probably won't work.. but "might" so maybe nothing lost.
