@agomez012, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue where your HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer is not recognizing the USB cable and shows as offline. Let's go through a few steps to resolve this:
Check USB Connection
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
- Try using a different USB port on your computer.
- If possible, test with a different USB cable to rule out cable issues.
Restart Devices
- Turn off the printer and your computer.
- Wait for 30 seconds.
- Turn them back on and reconnect the USB cable.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause connectivity issues.
- Unplug the USB cable from the printer.
- Go to the official HP support page: Official HP® Support
- Download and install the Full Feature Software and Driver for your operating system.
- During installation, connect the USB cable only when prompted.
Set Printer as Default & Check Status
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer > Set as default printer.
- Ensure the status is Ready and not Offline.
- If it shows "Offline", right-click > See what's printing > Printer > Uncheck Use Printer Offline.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
