Hi @jimphil40,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the blinking lights.
A solid orange light on the information button of your HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer typically indicates an error or issue that needs to be resolved. Here are the steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check for Error Messages
- On the Printer's Control Panel: Look for any error messages or codes displayed on the printer's control panel. This can give you specific information about the problem.
2. Check the Printer Status on the HP Smart App
- HP Smart App: Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. The app can provide detailed information about the error and suggest steps to resolve it.
3. Check Ink Levels and Paper
- Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.
- Paper: Make sure there is enough paper in the input tray, and that it is properly aligned.
4. Clear Any Paper Jams
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's access doors and check for any paper jams. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
5. Restart the Printer
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
6. Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or the printer's software on your computer. or Click here
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @jimphil40,
Please find the next steps below.
7. Reset the Printer
- Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset your printer to its factory settings. Note that this will erase all settings and configurations:
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.
8. Reconnect the Printer to the Network
- Reconfigure Wi-Fi: If the printer is connected wirelessly, ensure it is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to re-enter your Wi-Fi credentials:
- On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
9. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility from the HP website. This tool can diagnose and fix many common printing and scanning issues.
You may also refer to this document for more information.
