TL:DR- windows update won't update due to printer install error. I do not have this printer.
For months, I have been trying to get this thing to update but it wont let me. It says I have a 'printer install error 0x800f020b'. I do not have this kind of printer. I have no idea what to do about it. Please help. I want it gone.
it still allows me to do other updates and installs. It just has a notification icon that bothers me.
Thank you

Hi @emma-s,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.
Are you trying to install a printer on this computer? If yes,
May I have the exact product name and number? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
Meanwhile, perform the steps below
Windows Update error Ox800f020b While trying to install updates, an update that you're trying to install applies to a device that isn't connected to the computer. I would suggest that you connect the printer to your device, turn the device ON and try to install the updates.
If the issue persists, I would suggest that you perform Windows Update Troubleshooter.
1. On the search bar type Troubleshooter
2. Click on Troubleshooting and click on the Settings tab below the search box.
3. Click on the Find and Fix problems tile and then click on the view all button in the left pane.
4. Click on the Windows update troubleshooter and run it.
Close Windows Update, wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then run Windows Update again. You can also wait for Windows Update to run at its next scheduled time.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
