Hi,  my HP ENVY 4527 without warning keeps pausing, i have removed the printer from my macbook and re-added it as suggeted in your online help but the printer still goes into pause.  I unclick pause, the printer says ready to print then goes straight back into pause once more..... I'm able to print from my iphone as i have my documnets linked to the phone so i'm stumped, what is making it pause all the time?  thank you.

@acecarver,

Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support community!

Please provide the below information to assist you with an accurate resolution.

  • What is the version of your MAC OS?
  • Is there any security software or antivirus installed on your MAC?
  • Is the printer connected to a WiFi Router?
    • If yes, how far is the printer in relation to your WiFi Router?
    • Is the Router a dual-band(having both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks)?
    • Do you have any WiFi extenders?

Let's try these steps:

Step 1: Clear the Print Queue

  • Go to the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences

  • Click Printers & Scanners or Print & Scan
  • Select the Printer and click on 'Open Print Queue'

  • Click on the button to cancel the print jobs that are stuck in the queue.
  • Try to print the documents again.
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Update the MAC OS and printer firmware

  • The steps on how to update Mac OS can be found in this link
  • Refer to this link to update the printer firmware.
  • Once the update is complete, restart the printer and the MAC
  • Try printing again
  • If the issue persists, proceed to the next step

Step 3: Remove and add the Printer driver

  • Go to the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences

  • Click Printers & Scanners or Print & Scan.
  • If your printer is listed, click the name of your printer, then click the minus signhttps://support.hp.com/doc-images/161/c01861703.gif to delete the printer.
  • Click the plus signhttps://support.hp.com/doc-images/466/c03678294.gif, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer.
  • Click the Use or Print Using menu, then select the name of your printer.

(Note: For printers connected on Wireless select AirPrint or Secure Airprint)

  • Click Add to add the printer to the list.
  • Try to print

Let me know what happens.
