Hi @Tarek19,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

The error you’re experiencing with your HP Ink Tank Wireless 415 indicates an issue with the black ink printhead, which is typically related to a printhead fault or an ink supply problem. Here’s how yo

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the black ink tank has sufficient ink. Low ink levels can cause the printhead to malfunction.
  • If the ink level is low, refill the black ink tank following the instructions provided in your printer manual.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Sometimes, the printhead nozzles can become clogged, causing errors:
    • Open the printer software on your computer.
    • Go to Tools or Maintenance, and select Clean Printhead. Follow the prompts to complete the cleaning cycle.
  • You can repeat the cleaning cycle up to two more times if necessary.

Check and Re-seat the Printhead:

  • Power off the printer and open the front access door.
  • Wait for the print carriage to stop moving.
  • Gently lift the printhead latch and remove the black printhead.
  • Inspect the printhead for any visible damage or dried ink buildup.
  • Re-seat the printhead securely back into its position and close the latch.

Align the Printhead:

  • After reseating the printhead, perform a printhead alignment:
    • Go to the printer’s control panel or use the printer software on your computer.
    • Select Align Printhead from the maintenance options.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the other end of the power cord from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power source, then turn the printer on.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Tarek19,

Please find the remaining steps below.

Check for Printhead Errors:

  • If the error persists, check for any specific error codes or blinking patterns on the control panel and refer to your printer’s manual or the HP support website for exact troubleshooting steps for those errors.

Replace the Printhead:

  • If the printhead is damaged or cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to replace the black printhead.
  • Purchase a new compatible printhead from HP or an authorized retailer, and replace it according to the instructions in your printer manual.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer, as updates can sometimes fix printhead issues:
    • Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your model.
    • Install the firmware update following the provided instructions.

Tips:

  • Ensure Proper Ventilation: Make sure the printhead and ink tanks are properly ventilated by checking that the orange plugs or seals are removed from the ink tanks.
  • Avoid Printhead Drying: Keep the printhead installed at all times to avoid drying or damage.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi Elohi_NR

I'm sorry to inform you that the printheads are expensive to purchase and replace.

This is a very disappointing issue for HP customers since buying a new printer is much better than purchasing a replacement head.

I hope you reconsider your spare parts prices.

Thank you for your help and best regards.

Hi Elohi_NR,

Unfortunately, the printer just printed 4 papers only and the error occurred again.

Therefore the last solution is to replace the black printhead?

I also want to address something I noticed on the software HPSmart, that ink indicators are not working and not showing the ink level for both the black and the color ink tanks, bearing in mind that they are full.

Have a good day

Hi @Tarek19,

Welcome back to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for writing back

It seems like there are two separate issues with your printer: the print errors after a few pages and the ink level indicators not showing in HP Smart for your HP Ink Tank Wireless 415.

Let's address both issues:

Issue 1: Printer Error After Printing Only a Few Pages

This could be due to a faulty printhead or other hardware-related issues. Before replacing the black printhead, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Clean the Printhead

  • From the printer's control panel:
    1. Open Settings on your printer’s control panel.
    2. Navigate to Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
    3. Run the cleaning process and see if it resolves the issue.
  • Via HP Smart App:
    1. Open HP Smart.
    2. Go to Printer Maintenance.
    3. Select Clean Printhead.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing again to see if the issue persists.

3. Check the Ink Cartridge Status

  • Ensure the cartridges are seated properly.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges, making sure there's no protective tape on the new cartridges.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the HP Support site and search for firmware updates for your HP Ink Tank Wireless 415.
  • Install any available updates to ensure optimal performance.

5. Check for Printhead Alignment Issues

  • From the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel, try performing a Printhead Alignment.
  • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead.

If none of these steps resolve the problem and the printer continues to malfunction, the black printhead might indeed need replacement. You can contact HP phone Support for assistance on getting a replacement printhead.

Kindly check the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Tarek19,

Issue 2: Ink Level Indicators Not Showing in HP Smart

The ink level issue is often due to a software or connectivity problem. Here’s how to troubleshoot it:

1. Check HP Smart App Version

  • Make sure the HP Smart app is up to date. Update it via the Microsoft Store (for Windows) or App Store/Google Play (for mobile devices).

2. Re-add the Printer to HP Smart

  • In the HP Smart app:
    1. Remove the printer by going to Printers > Remove Printer.
    2. Re-add the printer by clicking Add Printer and follow the steps to reconnect it.

3. Check Network Connection

  • Ensure your printer and laptop are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • A weak Wi-Fi connection may cause issues with the ink level indicator.

4. Reset Ink Level Monitoring

  • Sometimes, removing and reinserting the cartridges can reset the ink monitoring system.
  • Turn off the printer, remove the ink cartridges, then reinsert them after a few seconds.

5. Printer Firmware Update

  • Updating the printer's firmware can fix software-related bugs, including ink level reporting.
  • Check the HP Support website for any available firmware updates for your model.

If you have performed all of these steps, don't resolve the issues with either the printing error or the ink indicators, replacing the black printhead may need as you mentioned.

Let me know how things progress.

I did all of the above that you mentioned.

And it seems to me that the last solution is to replace the print heads.

It is to expensive to replace.

Buying a new printer is more feasible.

Thank you for your help.
