Hi @sue1963,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is not responding and print jobs are getting stuck, even after a reboot, here are some steps to help you fix the issue:
1. Power Cycle Everything
- Turn off your printer, computer, and Wi-Fi router.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Turn them back on in this order: Router → Printer → Computer.
2. Clear the Print Queue
- On your computer:
- Open the HP Smart app (if installed).
- Go to the printer status and cancel all pending print jobs.
- If you don’t have HP Smart, you can also:
- Search for “Printers & Scanners” in your system settings.
- Select your printer > Open queue > Cancel all jobs.
3. Check Printer Connection
- Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- On the printer screen, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings to confirm.
4. Re-add the Printer
- Remove and re-add the printer:
- On Windows:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
- Click your printer > Remove device
- Click Add a printer or scanner
- On Mac:
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
- Select your printer > click the minus (-) to remove
- Click the plus (+) to re-add it
- On Windows:
5. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only)
- Download from HP’s official site
- It can automatically detect and fix most issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
