printer prints a page and a half and then stops and rolls out a blank paper. Then tries again and prints half a page and rolls out a blank paper.

It sounds like your HP Envy 5530 printer is encountering a print job issue, where it starts printing but then runs out of content or experiences an error. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

 

Check the Print Queue and Settings

Clear the Print Queue: Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause issues. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click on your printer > See what's printing. Cancel all pending print jobs.

Check Paper Size Settings: Ensure that the paper size in the printer settings matches the paper in the tray (e.g., A4, Letter).

 

Check for Ink or Toner Issues

Make sure your printer's ink cartridges are not low or empty. If they are, replace them with new ones.

Also, ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly, and there is no ink clogging.

 

Check the Printer Driver

Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver: Sometimes a corrupt or outdated driver can cause printing issues. Go to Device Manager and right-click on your printer under "Printers" to update the driver, or go to HP's support website to download the latest driver for your printer model.

 

Check for Paper Jam or Printer Obstructions

Make sure there are no paper jams in the printer, especially in the rollers or paper feed areas. Also, ensure there are no foreign objects obstructing the printer's mechanisms.

 

Test a Different Document or Application

Try printing a simple document (e.g., a notepad file or a test page from the printer settings). This helps rule out software issues.

If you’re printing from a specific program (like Word or Excel), make sure the document is not corrupted.

 

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
