HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

issue: printer repeatedly offline -> Laserjet Pro MFP M227fdw under windows10 (latest updates) - Dell I7 laptop (1 year old).

I have configured a fixed IP (10.0.0.29) on the printer.. however, I find myself repeatedly (2 to 3 times weekly) running the HP Print and Scan Doctor which cures the problem     and then which usually requires a computer restart at HP doctor's request.     I find that the fixed IP address appearing under windows 10 is changed to a FE80::FAB4:6AFF:FE10:4DC in place of the 10.0.0.29 .. i believe  windows is messing with the fixed IP port address i preset.

please advise.

Thanks David

Wireless or wired connection? If wired, configure your wireless router with a different SSID for the 2.4 Ghz channel and only allow the printer to connect to that, not the  5Ghz channel.
