It may be that the current driver installed is set for "color lok" paper as the default. Some of the new drivers are configured this way. You simply need to go into the preferences for the driver and change the default to plain. On you PC, search for control panel and open it. Right click on Devices and Printers and select open. Right click on the icon for your printer and selet "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on printing preferences in the lower left and then printing shortcuts. Click the down arrow in paper type and select plain paper from the drop down menu.
Depending on driver installed it might looks like below and in this case click "media type"
There may be other arrangements of functions but you should be able to find it with the instructions above.
