When I installed the start up color it won't print anything.  It says do not use start up cartridge. I don't know if it's ink or the printer.  I don't want to buy ink if it's a printer issue. it's almost as cheap to buy another printer.

Are you using startup cartridges? If you are getting the message not to use the Startup cartridges, then you just need to replace them with regular cartridges

 

Startup cartridges are only used to setup the printer initially
