Laser jet P1108
macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hi friends,

My Laser jet P1108  printer is not functioning now.. I had purchased it three months ago. 

When I switch on the power button, the green and orange light comes up, some sound is made but after few seconds it goes out. What could be the problem? How to resolve this?

Product series introduced end of October 2011

Printer is ten years old (or about that age).

Laser printers typically have a long life span - that said, things can go wrong after this long.

 

The printer might not be able to draw the power it needs to completely start up.

You could (for example) try a different wall outlet.

Do not use a surge protector - at least for the testing phase, be sure to use a correctly wired and configured wall outlet.

Now the printer is not even switching on. It switched on once and after that no response.. I tried the options you had mentioned, but no use.

I guess, I will have to take it to the service centre.

Hopefully you will find a good printer technician that can help with the power / on-off.

I just have any experience with the hardware to guess at what else to try at home.
