New printer. It keeps locking up and displaying the critical error message  F0.01.01.02. I can't even shut off the printer when this happens, I have to unplug it. What is the issue?

Hi @shay557,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "F0.01.01.02" critical error message on your HP Envy 6500e All-in-One printer indicates a hardware or firmware malfunction, often related to the printer's internal systems, such as the printhead or the sensor mechanisms. This issue can occur on new printers due to a faulty component, software corruption, or an installation issue.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power outlet and wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and try turning it on again.
  • This might help resolve any temporary software or hardware glitches.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams, foreign objects, or debris inside the printer that might be interfering with its normal operation.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • If possible, check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. You can do this via the HP Smart app or the HP support website.

Perform a Factory Reset:

  • A factory reset can sometimes clear out internal errors. This may vary by model, but typically, you can reset the printer through the settings menu on the display.

Check the Power Supply:

  • Ensure the power cord is securely connected and that the printer is plugged directly into a wall socket, not a surge protector or extension cord, which can cause power instability.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
