Hi @GiGi21646 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there might be an issue with the cartridges or their installation in your HP Photosmart 7525 printer. Here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot the problem:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that you have properly installed the new cartridges. Make sure they are securely snapped into place.

Remove and Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the cartridge access door and carefully remove the cartridges.
  • Reinstall the cartridges and make sure they click into place.
  • Close the cartridge access door.

Check for Protective Strips:

  • Sometimes, new cartridges have protective strips or tape that need to be removed before installation. Ensure that all protective materials have been removed.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Update Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the HP website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.

Check Cartridge Contacts:

  • Make sure the cartridge contacts and the corresponding contacts inside the printer are clean. You can use a lint-free cloth to gently clean them.

Run Printer Diagnostics:

  • Many printers have a built-in diagnostic tool. Check the printer's manual for instructions on how to run a diagnostic or self-test.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look for any error messages or codes displayed on the printer screen. This information can help identify the specific issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
