Hi @buzz-dad,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is only printing half a page, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the problem.

Paper Size Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size selected in the printer settings matches the size of the paper loaded in the tray. Incorrect paper size settings can cause printing issues.

Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure you have the latest drivers for your HP printer installed on your computer. Outdated or corrupted drivers can lead to printing problems.

Print Preview:

  • Before printing, use the print preview option to see if the entire document is being sent to the printer. If the print preview shows the complete page but the physical printout is still cut off, there might be a communication issue between your computer and the printer.

Margins and Scaling:

  • Check the margins and scaling settings in your document and printing preferences. If the margins are set too close to the edge or scaling is incorrect, it can result in a partial print.

Print Quality Settings:

  • Adjust the print quality settings. Sometimes, choosing a lower quality setting can help if the printer is struggling to process the entire page.

Paper Tray Alignment:

  • Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and is aligned properly. Improper alignment can lead to paper feeding issues and cause incomplete prints.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP printer. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve printing issues.

Test Print:

  • Print a test page directly from the printer. This can help determine if the issue is specific to a certain document or if it persists across different types of prints.

Check for Obstructions:

  • Inspect the printer for any obstructions, such as bits of paper or debris, that might be blocking the paper path.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Uninstall the printer from your computer and then reinstall it. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
