Hi @thomasmulvihill,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Printer Connection:
- Wireless Network: Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. The wireless icon on the printer should be steady, not blinking.
- Wired Connection: If using Ethernet, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router.
Restart Devices:
- Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for about 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Computer: Restart your computer to re-establish a connection with the printer.
Set the Printer as Default:
- On your computer, go to "Devices and Printers" in the Control Panel (Windows) or "Printers & Scanners" (macOS).
- Right-click on your printer icon and select "Set as Default Printer."
Delete Pending Print Jobs:
- Open the "Printer Queue" from the printer icon in "Devices and Printers."
- Right-click on any stuck jobs and select "Cancel."
Update Printer Status:
- Right-click on the printer icon in "Devices and Printers" and ensure "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked.
Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support Page to download the latest drivers and firmware for your printer model.
- Uninstall existing drivers and reinstall the updated ones.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to automatically detect and resolve any issues.
Check Network Settings:
- Print a network configuration page using the printer's control panel to verify settings or detect issues.
- Ensure that the printer's IP address matches the one configured in your computer's printer settings.
I hope this helps.
