@DXannyboy, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
A flashing blue Wi-Fi light on your HP DeskJet 2810e printer usually means it's not properly connected to your Wi-Fi network, even if other devices are. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and fix this issue on Windows 11:
Check Wi-Fi Connection on Printer
Flashing blue light = not connected to Wi-Fi.
To reconnect:
Press and hold the Wireless button (🟦) on the printer until the Power light starts blinking.
Press and hold the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
(If your router doesn’t have WPS, skip this and proceed to next step using HP Smart app.)
Use HP Smart App to Reconnect Printer
Download or open the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP's website.
Open the app > Click on “Add Printer”.
It should detect the DeskJet 2810e in setup mode.
Follow the instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
Make sure your PC is on the same Wi-Fi network you want the printer on.
Once connected, the Wi-Fi light should become solid blue.
Run HP Smart:
- Download and run the HP Smart. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
- Refer: Use Diagnose & Fix in HP Smart to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

I hear your frustration—spending hours troubleshooting without success is exhausting. Since pressing the Wi-Fi button didn’t trigger the expected response, it’s possible there’s a deeper issue with the printer’s wireless module or firmware. Here are a few additional steps to try:
1. Perform a Factory Reset
- With the printer powered on, press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
- This will restore the printer to its factory default settings.
- Try setting up the Wi-Fi connection again using the HP Smart app.
2. Check for Firmware Updates
- Even if the printer isn’t connected to Wi-Fi, you can update the firmware via USB.
- Download the latest firmware from HP’s support page.
- Install it using a USB connection to your computer.
3. Assign a Static IP Address
- If the printer is intermittently connecting but not staying online, manually assigning an IP address might help.
- Open HP Smart → Printers & Scanners → Advanced Settings.
- Assign a static IP address to the printer.
If none of these steps work, it might be worth contacting HP support directly to see if they can diagnose a hardware issue. Let me know how it goes—I appreciate your patience while we work through this!
