Hi @Rick1437,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code "E3" on your HP Envy 6075 printer indicates a carriage jam. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for Paper Jams

  1. Turn Off the Printer:
    • Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Check the Input Tray:
    • Remove any loose or jammed paper from the input tray.
  3. Check the Output Tray:
    • Remove any jammed paper from the output tray area.
  4. Open the Ink Cartridge Access Area:
    • Lift the top cover of the printer to access the ink cartridge area.
    • Check for any paper or objects obstructing the carriage path.
    • Gently remove any jammed paper or objects you find.
  5. Close the Ink Cartridge Access Area:
    • Once you've ensured the area is clear, close the cover.

Step 2: Check the Carriage Path

  1. Manually Move the Carriage:
    • With the printer off, open the ink cartridge access area again.
    • Gently move the carriage (where the ink cartridges sit) to the left and right to ensure it moves freely.
    • Look for any obstructions in the path of the carriage and remove them if found.
  2. Inspect the Ink Cartridges:
    • Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed.
    • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly.

Step 3: Restart the Printer

  1. Turn On the Printer:
    • Close all covers and turn the printer back on.
    • Listen for any unusual noises and watch for the error code.

Step 4: Reset the Printer

  1. Unplug the Printer:
    • While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait 60 Seconds:
    • Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the Printer Back In:
    • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet.
    • Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Step 5: Clean the Printer Rollers

  1. Access the Rollers:
    • Refer to your printer's manual to locate and access the rollers inside the printer.
  2. Clean the Rollers:
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
    • Rotate the rollers manually to ensure thorough cleaning.
  3. Dry the Rollers:
    • Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the printer.

Step 6: Update the Printer Firmware

  1. Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for firmware updates for your printer model.
  2. Download and Install Updates:
    • Follow the instructions to download and install any available firmware updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
