Out of nowhere, my M209dw LaserJet printer has started flashing an amber light. When I log into the SmartApp, I see an error message saying "Printer Cannot Print" with no other information. However, the diagnostic tool in SmartApp does not find any problems. Similarly, when I print the information page, all it says is: "A problem has occurred and you will be unable to print, except for printer reports, until the issue is resolved."
I am using a Mac. The printer is connected to wifi (in fact, the printed information page confirms this).
Only other potential clue is that when I log into HPSmart in the browser, it indicates that my printer has not synced with my account since late December; and when I try to sync by clicking the "reset" button, it says my printer is not connected (even though it is).
Has anyone been able to find a solution to this type of issue? I am going on hour 4 of trying to print a single page and have been unable to find anything that tells me what is actually wrong. I am this close to chucking my printer in the trash and never buying another HP product.

If you are subscribed to instant ink you need to resolve the communication issue, that is your problem. Without communication you are able to print a few pages nut then the printer will stop until it is able to connect.
