My hp Deskjet 2700. Everything was fine. I then signed up for the hp instant ink and the "I" light just stays on orange. When I press it I get a print out of just the basic information about my printer. No issues. I unplugged it for 60 seconds plugged it back in. The light is still on. Please help

Hi @Camdiggz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP DeskJet 2700 after signing up for HP Instant Ink. The persistent orange "i" light indicates that there might be an issue that needs attention. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Ensure Proper Installation: Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed, and the paper is loaded correctly. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on proper installation.
  • Check Ink Levels: Verify that the ink cartridges have sufficient ink. You can check the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer if it has a screen.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues. Visit the official HP website and search for your printer model to find any available firmware updates.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi: If your printer is connected wirelessly, make sure it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Reconfigure the wireless settings on the printer if necessary.
  • Check for Error Messages: Print a diagnostic report or check the printer display for any error messages. This may provide more specific information about the issue.
  • Reinstall HP Instant Ink: Uninstall the HP Instant Ink software from your computer and reinstall it. Make sure you follow the setup instructions carefully.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a factory reset on the printer to restore it to its default settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any customized settings, so you may need to set up the printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
