"Incompatible Toner Cartridge"

I have a genuine HP toner cartridge and yet still receive "Incompatible Toner Cartridge" error. I now Have a printer that is a brick. How can printing be this difficult!?

That worked but then a week later my printer is printing a single line of random characters and won't stop until I take out the paper and cancel the job. Why did I buy an HP printer!? It's literally useless.

This is usually a corrupt file or bad print driver.  Disconnect printer. Delete print jobs.  Some PDF files will have embedded objects that printer cannot translate.

I’ve tried that several times but to no avail.

I also tried printing from other apps (even plain text), but the same garbled print-out.

Incidentally, the settings page prints perfectly (the one with all the settings).

Any other suggestions? I never imagined that printing black and white documents on a printer that cost hundreds of dollars would be so difficult.

I'm thinking a factory reset might fixt things. I've already tried removing and reinstalling the printer.

How would I perform a factory reset? If that doesn't work, this shiny new HP printer is going in the trash 🙂

And now HP Smart refuses to install the drivers.
10 times I’ve tried. How can printing in 2023 be this bad — from a billion-dollar company with years of experience, printing!

Finally, it installed the drivers. But still printing garbled nonsense as before.

I basically have a large and expensive piece of useless plastic in my home — that prints hundreds of pages of nonsense. Way to go, HP! I now walk to. my local printshop to get my docs printed, while my brand-new and useless HP printer is a brick.
