Product: HP ENVY 6455e
OS: MacOS Sonoma 14.5
Hello! I was trying to print something when I suddenly got a orange light coming from the bar of the printer. When I print using the "I" information button, I get the following paper:
I have tried resetting the WiFi information on the printer and setting it up again with HP Smart, but that did not work. When I go into my HP Smart account, I do not see any information about the error, basically the same text as on the paper. Does anyone know what I could do?
Thank you,
Michelle

Hi @Girlie0620,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
An orange light on your HP ENVY 6455e printer typically indicates an error that needs to be resolved. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix this issue.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
- Remove any stuck paper carefully to avoid tearing.
Check Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed.
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly.
- Check for any low or empty ink cartridges and replace them if necessary.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a factory reset on the printer.
- Press and hold the Power button and the Cancel button simultaneously for 5-10 seconds until the printer starts to reset.
Check WiFi Connection:
- Ensure your printer is connected to the correct WiFi network.
- Print a wireless test report to check the connection status.
- If necessary, reconnect the printer to the WiFi using the HP Smart app.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Make sure the printer's firmware is up to date.
- You can update the firmware via the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website.
- This tool can automatically diagnose and fix many printing and scanning issues.
Check for Error Messages:
- If you see any error messages on the printer’s display or the printed information page, refer to the printer's manual or the HP support website for specific error codes and solutions.
Reinstall HP Smart App:
- Uninstall and then reinstall the HP Smart app on your Mac.
- Set up the printer again using the app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
