HP Color Laser MFP 179fwg
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I guess the "waste toner tanks" are somewhere built in into the toner cartridges. I found this one: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06211165 regarding a replaceable toner collection unit (TCU). But there is no such thing in my device (HP Color Laser MFP 179fwg, 2300 pages printed, bought 12/2020). Toner cartridges still have 10 % capacity left. I'd rather use the 10 % then throwing it away just to avoid the red lighted "Replace/Install Waste Toner Tank" message on the display.

Message in web interface is: "C7-1140 The waste toner container has reached its end-of-life cycle. Immediate user intervention is required to replace the container. Printing has stopped, all other machine services (if installed) are unaffected."

What can I do to prevent/avoid the message before the cartridges are really empty?

Schweregrad: Kritisch
Statuscode: C7-1131
Beschreibung: C7-1140 The waste toner container has reached its end-of-life cycle. Immediate user intervention is required to replace the container. Printing has stopped, all other machine services (if installed) are unaffected.

There must be a waste toner tank in your printer.

You need to remove all 4 toners and the waste toner tank will be on the left side of the interior of the printer just need to pull it out.

Take a picture of your printer without toners and post here.

You are missing it, there is no waste toner tank on your pictures, you will need to buy one new and install it. Without it the printer will not work.

While ideally the waste toner unit under perfect circumstances will be able to hold all waste toner generated by the printer, heavy dark print, paper jams or other printing issues might result in excess waste toner being produced. The printer stops because an overloaded waste unit can result in toner being dumped inside the printer.

I got the same problem like this, Beside the Toner Cartridge, there is really a "Tank" to deposit all the waste Toner.

For the 178nw model, you need to remove all the 4 Toner cartridge first. The tank is on the left wall of the printer where the color labels (YMYK)  is on, you just need to slide it out towards you. Then you just empty out the toner powder from this tank into a dust bin, then put it back in. Also put back all 4 toner cartridge.

After that the message will dissapear, and you can print nack as normal.
