HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer - L411a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Used this : printer in May with zero issues.  Plugged it in on this trip (I connect via USB printer cable - no wifi) and while I'm not printing anything the printer will start printing out random pages with codes:

POST /ipp/print HTTP/1.1

Content-Length: 187

Content-Type: application/ipp

HOST: localhost

(then a line with symbols but text includes attributes-charset tributes-natural-language)

GET /cdm/system/v1/status HTTP/1.1

HOST: localhost

GET /cdm/deviceUsage/v1/lifetimeCounters HTTP/1.1

HOST: localhost

GET /DevMgmt/ProductStatusDyn.xml HTTP/1.1

HOST: localhost

GET /DevMgmt/DiscoveryTree.xml HTTP/1.1

HOST: localhost

GET /DevMgmt/ProductUsageDyn.xml HTTP/1.1

HOST: localhost

I've uninstalled the printer & reinstalled.  I've checked for new drivers.  I've gone in to the RUN section and stopped spooling, etc. etc. etc.  Printer continues to do this.   I am not sending anything to the printer but working and all of a sudden the printer starts printing a page.  Then it might sit 5 minutes and print another page.  How do I make it stop?

Hi @Zagfan,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to update the firmware from HP Smart App.

1. Go to 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPad OS), or HP Smart - Microsoft Store (Windows), or HP Smart - Mac App Store (Mac) (if not installed).

2. After completing the printer setup, click or tap on the printer’s name.

NOTE: Menu names, locations, and available settings vary by printer model.

3. Under Advanced, select Printer Home Page (EWS) or Advanced Settings.

4. Click or tap Tools or Web Services.

5. Click or tap Printer Updates or Product Update, and then click or tap Check Now.

I bought a SmartFriend subscription to try to get help and they could not get it resolved (although for 30 minutes I had no issues).  One of the people who tried to help me suggested perhaps the printer was no longer supported  since HP no longer makes it (he said there were no driver updates) and that I should just get a new printer.  It is still supported by HP.  I finally gave up and purchased a Canon printer so that I could get some work done as this is my portable printer while traveling and spending that much time to fix a weird error is unproductive.  I spent over 8 hours total over 3 days working on trying to find a resolution - I'm noticing that there are alot of posts throughout the Forum with people and different HP printers having similar issues.   I could not - I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and checking for drivers and installing from Windows instead of plug & play, etc etc etc.  My gut tells me since I haven't used this particular printer in 2 months and the problem suddenly appeared without updating the printer that it has something to do with a conflict between HP drivers and some kind of Windows update.  Maybe an HP guru will figure it out for everyone else.

I am having the same issue with an old HP DeskJet 6845 that worked fine until a Windows 11 update.  I am also at wits end.  I wish someone at HP can figure this out, or maybe the next Windows update will help.  Please advise if anyone figures this out.

These suggestions did not help with my HP Deskjet 6845.  I think the problem started with a Windows 11 update, and the next update did not fix it.  Any further suggestions?

First off I am an avid HP laptop and printer fan.  However, I have literally given up.  I have tried every suggestion from the web and HP.  Erased and reinstalled drivers and software, ran their diagnostic tool and still multitudes of printed "get /cdm/device... and  /cdm/systemk/v1/status http/1.1 etc.." printed papers keep flailing out.  My solution is: give up, turn pages over put them back into the paper feeder tray and use them for nonessential printing on the clean side.  Whomever said "We shall nevah give up" Nevah had an HP printer.  I rest my case, I rest my fingers and say "Goodnight Gracie".....................................................................

Recently, on my DeskJet 6845, I've held down the red X button on the printer when it starts acting up after I turn it off, and it has been spitting out a blank sheet with nothing printed on it as before.  Also, I left the printer on for a while after finishing printing and it didn't act up at all when I turned it off.  Maybe that was a lucky one-off.
